It only takes one referral to the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) to change a woman’s life. And it only takes one voice–even a whisper–to share an important message.

Whether someone is coping with difficult family situations, concerned about finances, or simply seeking opportunities for personal growth, we want to be there to hear their voice and share our message.

But if no one can hear what the Women’s Resource Center has to say, then we are missing opportunities to serve more women and families in the Manatee and Sarasota communities.

How you can help WRC’s Louder Together campaign

Technology improvements funded by the 2018 Giving Challenge will support our marketing and programming staff to better communicate the programs and resources available at WRC. We also plan to begin a podcast series and offer online educational resources for employment-seekers as well.

By improving our technology, we can help spread and expand the reach of our messaging to help local women, no matter their situation. Our clients are diverse, and we want to embrace that by providing diverse resources that are easily accessible through technology.

In 2016, the Giving Challenge helped exponentially in supporting the merger of Manatee & Sarasota through the Better Together campaign. The truth is in the numbers – here are some outstanding stats of what was achieved in the first year of our merger:

  • 648 unduplicated clients attended 1604 Employment Classes or Workshops
  • 858 unduplicated clients attended 3302 Counseling or Emotional Support Sessions
  • 4155 referrals to programs within WRC or other Agencies/Community Services

Imagine what we will continue to accomplish with your help through the Giving Challenge. Our hope is to continue to grow these numbers through technology improvements. In 2018, it’s time for us to be Louder Together. Help WRC raise our voice!
