You can tune in by phone or computer to learn more.
Join our online information session to hear about FREE teacher training certificate programs and careers in Early Childhood Education, including various career laddering opportunities. Guests include the Early Learning Coalitions of Manatee and Sarasota Counties and the State College of Florida.
Participants will learn about the FREE Introduction to Child Care 45-hour training program, local classes for the Florida Child Care Professional Certification (FCCPC), a new pre-apprenticeship program, and degree pathways in Early Childhood Education. No experience is necessary to participate in these FREE training programs.
Current job openings are available, with average entry wages for preschool teachers in the $14-$20/hr range. Start working immediately in this high-demand field with the opportunity to build a rewarding career in education.

As part of the monthly Career Connections webinar series, the Women’s Resource Center is partnering with local hotel employer Ocean Properties to offer an online information session focused on jobs available in the hospitality industry. Entry-level positions at Sarasota and Manatee beach-front hotels include Front Desk Agent, Housekeeping, Pool & Beach, Food & Beverage, and Gift Shop roles. Join us to learn more about the many opportunities for advancement in this exciting and fast-paced industry. Free training is available!

Description: Have you ever considered a career in manufacturing?
As part of the monthly Career Connections webinar series, the Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is partnering with manufacturing employers to offer an online information session focused on opportunities in the field of manufacturing.
Women represent only a small percentage of positions within this high-wage, fast-growing industry in our region. Representatives from PGT Innovations, a national window-maker headquartered in Venice, and ASO, a first aid product specialist, will share details about a variety of positions available at their organizations, including those in marketing, sales, and production. Entry-level jobs with no experience offer wages of $15/hour depending on the shift, with additional on-the-job training provided.
Title: Career Connections | Hospital Jobs
Description: Are you interested in working at a hospital?
Starting wages $14 – $20 an hour.
The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is partnering with Sarasota Memorial Hospital (SMH) to offer an online information session focused on career laddering opportunities at the hospital. The webinar is part of WRC’s monthly Career Connections series.
Representatives from SMH will share details about entry-level jobs with starting wages in the $14-20/ hr range. These positions include Room Attendants, Nutritional Technicians, Patient Transporters, Instrument Specialists, and more. Participants will also learn about the many paths available to move up and gain additional training and credentials that lead to higher-paying jobs.
Title: Carrer Connections | Pathways to Nursing
Description: Women’s Resource Center is offering an online information session focused on nursing careers. Guests include representatives from Doctors Hospital, Blake Medical Center, and Galen College of Nursing. Given these organizations are all owned by HCA, many opportunities exist to receive paid training for various caregiver roles, including CNA/Patient Care Technicians, LPN, and continuing education to pursue an RN degree.

Title: Career Connections | Digital Court Reporter Training
Description: The Women’s Resource Center (WRC) is partnering with State College of Florida (SCF) to provide a virtual information session about its tuition-free Digital Court Reporter training program. Participants will learn about the online class and how to apply for the funding scholarship through CareerSource Suncoast, as well as hear directly from an employer regarding job opportunities in this high-demand profession. Digital court reporters play a key role in the legal system by capturing and maintaining a verbatim record of court proceedings. Graduates of the self-paced class will be ready to pass the Certified Electronic Reporter exam and can work from home or in-person providing deposition and litigation support. Average starting wages are $25/hour.d
