First thing’s first: Take a deep breath. Look around you. Reflect on your 2018 year. What adventures did you go on? What significant memories did you make? What do you wish you could have done? Now, focus on what was good and what was bad. What do you want to continue? What do you want to change? How are you going to do it?

Step One: Write Down Your Goals

This might sound silly, but write down your goals. Make sub-points with each goal and focus on how you are going to achieve them. The key to any goal is to make it realistic. Don’t try to take on all your goals full force at once. Pace yourself. Focus on one or two goals at a time. Spread them throughout your week/year.

Step Two: Reduce Stress

Now that you have your goals set, figure out ways to reduce the stress that comes along with achieving them. Try meditation, breathing, exercise, and changing your attitude to focus on positivity and gratitude .Stress is detrimental to your health. Don’t let it win.

Step Four: Journaling

You don’t have to be a best-selling author to journal. Start small. Write down one positive thing that happened to your throughout your day. Journaling has many benefits that will help you maintain your goals. It helps you relax, refresh, preserve memories, sparks creativity and builds self-discipline.

Step Five: Stay Motivated

It’s important to remember to not give up. When you start to get these urges, reflect back on why you made that specific goal in the first place and always celebrate even the smallest success toward your goal! Good things take time, patience and determination. DON’T GIVE UP! 2019 is your year!
