Rachelle Madrigal, General Manager of the Bradenton Marauders and Director of Sales & Marketing for the Pittsburgh Pirates Florida Operations is the fifth in our series of 25 “Wonder Women” brought to you courtesy of the Bradenton Herald.

Rachelle is originally from Stoughton, MA where her interest in baseball was cemented after she spent two summers interning for the Brockton Rox Independent Minor League Baseball team in Brockton, MA. She joined the Pittsburgh organization in September 2006 and began her association with the Pirates as a Florida Operations Intern. Rachelle was hired full-time as the Club’s Coordinator for Sales & Business Operations on July 1, 2007 after graduating from the University of Massachusetts Amherst where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management. Married to Victor, she lives here in Bradenton.

In 2010 Rachelle was promoted to Manager of Sales & Marketing for the Pittsburgh Pirates and Bradenton Marauders and was promoted to her current position as General Manager of the Bradenton Marauders in May 2015. She is one of the youngest General Manager’s in the Florida State League and currently the only female GM in the League. Her job is to oversee the Marauders business operations and gameday operations (including the tricky job as game day amateur meteorologist)! In addition she oversees sponsorship sales, marketing, ticket sales, event hosting, special events, and community relations for the Pirates and Marauders in Bradenton. When Bradenton hosted the Florida State League All-Star Game game for the first time in 2014 Rachelle led the planning and execution – the game had the third-highest attendance of any all-star game in league history!

The recipient of the first Pirate City Employee of the Quarter Award in the Fall of 2008 and the Florida State League’s Emo Murphy Woman Executive of the Year Award in 2014 Rachelle currently serves on the PACE Center for Girls of Manatee Board of Directors, the Manatee County Substance Abuse Coalition Board of Trustees, the Manatee Memorial Foundation Women’s Action Committee, and as Treasurer for the Gulf Coast Latin Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors.
