Throughout the first few weeks of March, the musical, Baby, will be in production at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. Baby is a musical about three different couples in different walks of life who are each having a baby. According to Manatee Performing Arts Center, “The musical Baby follows three couples on their way to parenthood, including the cosmic highs, desperate lows, and the swing of emotional stresses and triumphs. The soon-to-be-parent couples include college students, thirty-somethings, and middle-aged parents awaiting the college graduation of their last child, when they find themselves right back where they started.”

Baby is part of the Manatee Performing Arts Center’s Studio Series presenting Action through Acting. Action through Acting is an ongoing program of theatrical productions designed to build awareness of socially relevant issues in the local community. According to BroadwayWorld, “each production is chosen to highlight crucial issues affecting our daily lives and serves as a platform to give voice to nonprofit organizations, their missions, and community programs, and the individuals they serve.”

The series highlights local nonprofits in our community addressing the same issues found in the staged productions. The Manatee Performing Arts Center’s series will support the mission of affiliate partner for this production, Women’s Resource Center. Visit our table at MPAC where you’ll meet one of our friendly volunteers to learn more about the mission, programs, and resources offered by WRC.

The musical production of Baby will run from March 1st – March 18th, 2018 at the Bradenton Kiwanis Theater at the Manatee Performing Arts Center. If you’d like to purchase tickets, click the button below.
