
This workshop aims to provide a comprehensive understanding of the divorce process. It will be divided into 5 sessions, each dedicated to a specific topic. The sessions will delve into the emotional aspects of divorce, the laws governing divorce in Florida, ways to assert your financial rights, dealing with children during divorce, and house and forensic accounting.
The workshop is 5 sessions, one per week, every Wednesday from 6:00 – 7:30 PM at the Sarasota office.
Emotions: The Emotions of divorce include why communication can break down, how emotions can negatively impact communication and decision-making, and ways you can change the dynamics of your divorce for yourself, your children, and your soon-to-be-ex.
Legal: Florida Divorce Law and what must be decided in divorce including the parenting plan, equitable distribution of debts and assets, alimony, and child support.
Legal & Children: Florida law regarding parenting plans and child support. In addition, it will explore how to tell the children about divorce, best co-parenting practices, and co-parenting communication skills to create a conflict-free zone for the children.
House & Forensic Accounting: Decisions to be made around communal property such as a house and the benefits of forensic accounting.
Finances: Financial Decisions that need to be made during divorce and how to claim your financial power.
