Celebrating our 2018 Sarasota Wonder Women

We would like to say thank you to everyone who attended and supported our 38th Annual Renaissance Legacy Luncheon. It was a splendid afternoon gathering to celebrate this year’s honorees: Teri A Hansen, Emily Walsh and Janice Zarro.

The luncheon took place at The Westin Sarasota, which provided a gorgeous setting for the event. We LOVED the refreshing salad & delectable dessert created by their amazing chefs for the occasion. Honorary Chairwoman Jamie Aymerich and WRC President & CEO Ashley Brown welcomed guests after a fun cocktail hour with raffle ticket purchases.

We then heard from guest speakers, WRC clients Felicia Phillips and Alayna Chavez, who shared their #MyWRC stories and accomplishments. It was wonderful hearing how our volunteers and staff at WRC have guided these women to help them accomplish their goals in life.  Felicia has been a stand-out participant in many WRC programs and was also honored as our J. Jll Woman of the Month for January. Alayna, daughter of WRC’s Marjorie Chavez, also participated in our employment and empowerment programs, including our signature Challenge program.  She is now a wonderful asset to Cool Today as their first female plumbing technician.

There wasn’t a dry eye in the house after the following video rolled and the 2018 Sarasota Wonder Women took to the stage. Each shared their kind words and wisdom in heartfelt speeches.

It was an honor to highlight such wonderful, trailblazing women in our Sarasota community. We’re already preparing for our Founders’ Legacy Luncheon to celebrate the Wonder Women of the Manatee communitty! Our Founders’ Legacy Luncheon will take place on Thursday, April 26 at IMG Academy Golf Club. Details to follow.
